Hi, I'm a dog parent — just like you.

Welcome to Hug a Pet — a space built out of pure love for dogs and a belief that every pet parent deserves honest, practical, and heartfelt guidance they can actually use.

I'm not a vet. I'm a dog owner, researcher, and passionate advocate for giving every dog the life they deserve. I started this blog because I couldn't find the kind of advice I was looking for — real, honest, and written by someone who actually lives this every single day.

My Story

When I first got my dog, I spent hours searching the internet for reliable advice. Most of what I found was too clinical, too generic, or buried under ads and clickbait. I wanted something real — so I started writing it myself.

First for myself — notes, observations, things that worked and things that completely didn't. Then I started sharing, and something clicked. Other pet parents were asking the same questions, going through the same struggles, and sharing the same overwhelming love for their dogs.

Hug a Pet was born from that realisation: there is a huge community of dog parents who deserve a trusted voice — someone who does the research, learns from experience, and shares it all without the noise.

Whether you are figuring out puppy training, trying to pick the right food, or just need to read something that reminds you why dogs are the greatest gift in the world — you are in exactly the right place.

What I Believe

Dogs don't just make life better — they make us better. They teach patience, presence, and unconditional love. Every article I write is shaped by that belief.

I will always tell you when you should see a vet. I will always be honest about what I know and what I don't. And I will always put your dog's wellbeing above everything else.

The Values Behind Every Post

Honest research — Every claim is backed by real sources: vets, studies, and genuine lived experience. No fluff, no filler.

Genuine care — Every post is written with real love for dogs and real respect for the people who care for them.

Practical advice — Things you can try today, for improvements you can see tomorrow. No vague tips.

Full transparency — When I recommend a product, I tell you why. If it is an affiliate link, I say so clearly.

Community first — This blog exists because of you. Your questions and stories shape everything I write.
